Veganut Protein Powder is great for many different situations, even if you're not an athlete or a bodybuilder! Our protein can help you tone and build lean muscle, as well as aid in muscle recovery and tissue repair following exercise. It also provides a convenient and delicious option for people who want to get more protein into their diet. You can easily create a high-protein snack using any of our flavours (think smoothies, protein cookies, the possibilities are endless!), which can help curb those snack cravings and aid with weight management. Plus, protein actually takes longer to metabolise than carbohydrates or fat, so its bound to keep you fuller for longer. Check out our recipe page for some tasty ideas!
- What makes Veganut Protein Powder better than other plant-based protein powders?
Not only does our protein powder taste great, but it is made from the highest quality ingredients that are good for you AND good for the Earth, so its a win-win! We use a combination of Belgian pea protein and brown rice protein to provide you with a complete protein source, free from any animal products. When combined with our unique natural flavour and natural sweetener blends, you've got yourself a pretty awesome recipe...trust us, your tummy (and the animals!) will thank you for it. Our protein powder is also gluten free, GMO-free, soy free, and free from any of those nasty additives that many others include. As well as this, our packaging is also completely biodegradable!
- Is plant-based protein better than animal based protein, such as whey?
Firstly, plant-based protein products are a more sustainable, more environmentally friendly option than animal-based protein products - their production requires less resources and produces far less waste. As well as this, when you choose plant protein over animal protein, you are helping to reduce the amount of animals and animal products that we are consuming (woohoo!).
Secondly, our plant protein powder is not derived from any of the eight most common allergenic foods (milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, fish, shellfish, and wheat), which are often used in protein supplements. This means it's a better option for people with various dietary restrictions. Its also easier to digest so tends to produce less of those uncomfortable side-effects that people often have with other protein powders, such as gas and bloating.
- What serving size should I be having?
Everyone has different requirements based on their height, weight, activity levels, age, gender, daily energy intake etc. so this is difficult to answer for everyone! We suggest you start with the serving size on the packaging (30g) and see how you go from there. You can easily experiment with this and decrease or increase based on your goals and how you feel. Everyone is different, so it's a matter of finding out what works best for you!
- How many servings should I have per day?
Again, this depends on many individual factors. We suggest staying within the recommended daily intake of 1-2 servings, however, if you have increased protein requirements (e.g. muscle building, high muscle) then you can increase this. We suggest a varied diet that includes a wide variety of healthy protein sources, not only from our protein powder but also from healthy foods such as whole grains, beans, nuts, tofu, etc.
- What is the best way to enjoy your delicious protein powder?
There are so many options and it's really up to you and what you like...raw treats, baked goodies, blended or shaken; just check out our recipe page for ideas!
- Will your protein powder make me gain weight?
No. As a high protein energy source that keeps you fuller for longer it can actually contribute to a more balanced diet and help with appetite control (so you are less likely to reach for that sugary snack!). If you include it as a part of a balanced diet, it will not make you gain weight. If you are still unsure, consult your nutritionist or doctor.
- Can Veganut Protein Powder replace meals?
You can combine it with many different whole foods to make a complete meal (e.g. oatmeal, fruit, and yoghurt) but it should not be used as a meal replacement on its own. Aim to include a healthy source of protein, fats and carbohydrates in each meal, and don't forget your greens!
- What’s the correct storage method and shelf life of Veganut protein powder?
Our protein powder should be kept in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. The shelf life is 12 months from the day it was packaged, and you’ll find the expiration date on the packaging.
